Contact Lens Exams

Your vision is in the best of hands at our office. We meticulously evaluate your eye health, prescribe, and precisely fit you with the ideal pair of contact lenses. Our dedicated eyecare professionals guide you through every stage, ensuring you understand proper care techniques.

More than 35 million Americans rely on contact lenses, primarily for vision correction, but also for therapeutic or cosmetic purposes by a smaller group. Modern contact lenses offer safe and effective solutions for a wide array of vision challenges. Corrective lenses are designed to address various vision impairments, including nearsightedness (myopia), farsightedness (hyperopia), blurred vision (astigmatism), and age-related loss of close-up vision (presbyopia).

We also provide specialized contact lenses for hard-to-fit cases, such as irregularities due to eye conditions or injuries. Choosing the right contact lenses involves considering your prescription, eye shape, and daily requirements. Our eye doctor will conduct precise measurements to select the appropriate lens type, fit, and degree of vision correction needed for your optimal vision experience and daily vision demands.

Soft contact lenses are the preferred choice for many due to their comfort and flexibility, crafted from water-absorbing hydrogel materials. With their high water content, these lenses offer exceptional comfort and ease of wear. Daily contact lenses have become increasingly popular, offering superior convenience and comfort. Designed for single-use, they are discarded after each wear, eliminating the need for cleaning solutions and lubricants. This makes them the healthiest and most comfortable option for eye care. Many manufacturers offer generous rebates with purchase, and they can be conveniently shipped directly to your home when ordered in an annual supply.

Rigid gas-permeable (RGP) lenses, while less flexible than soft lenses, allow ample oxygen flow to the eyes, promoting eye health. They are more durable and resistant to deposits, providing clearer vision. Although they may not be as initially comfortable as soft lenses, they offer crisp visual clarity due to their shape-retaining properties.

Toric lenses are specially designed to correct astigmatism, available in both soft and RGP variants. They help alleviate vision distortions caused by irregularly shaped corneas.

Bifocal and multifocal contact lenses cater to individuals with refractive errors and presbyopia, offering improved vision at varying distances. Bifocal lenses have two distinct segments for near and far vision, while multifocal lenses provide a gradual transition between lens powers.

Monovision is an alternative for those struggling with multifocal lenses, with each eye fitted with a lens for either distance or near vision, respectively.

Tinted or cosmetic contact lenses can not only correct vision, but also allow for a change in eye color or enhancement of natural eye color, offering individuals the opportunity for a fresh aesthetic.
